Ingredients:

  • 5 cups pretzels (rods or twists)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Let it boil for about 2 minutes without stirring, then remove it from heat.
  3. Place the pretzels on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Pour the butter toffee mixture evenly over the pretzels, ensuring they are well coated.
