Ingredients for 4 people:
- 8 wheat flour tortillas
- ½ kg (1 lb) thin and tender veal steaks
- 3 bell peppers (green, red, and yellow)
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- Ground black pepper
- Cumin
- Ginger powder
- Sweet paprika
- Hot paprika (optional)
- Olive oil
- Salt
How to Prepare Steak Fajitas:
- Prepare the Vegetables:
- Wash the bell peppers, dry them, and cut them into strips.
- Peel the onion and cut it into julienne strips.
- Peel the garlic cloves and slice them thinly.
- Cook the Vegetables:
- Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a frying pan or wok over medium heat.
- Add the prepared vegetables (peppers, onion, and garlic) to the pan.
- Sauté the vegetables for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally until they begin to soften.
- Prepare the Meat:
- While the vegetables are cooking, cut the veal steaks into strips that aren’t too thick.
- In a small bowl or shot glass, mix the following spices: 1 teaspoon ground black pepper, 1 teaspoon cumin, 1 teaspoon sweet paprika, 1½ teaspoons ginger powder, and 1½ teaspoons salt. Add 1 teaspoon of hot paprika if you prefer a bit of spice.
- Cook the Meat:
- Add the veal strips and the spice mixture to the pan with the vegetables.
- Stir well to ensure all the ingredients are evenly coated with the spices.
- Continue cooking for another 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meat is tender and cooked through.
- Serve:
- Remove the pan from the heat and transfer the steak fajita mixture to a serving dish.
- Serve with warm wheat flour tortillas on the side, allowing each person to fill their tortilla with the desired amount of the steak and vegetable mixture.
