- Spinach Garlic Meatballs Stuffed With Cheese
Ingredients:
For the Meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Cheese Filling:
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
For the Sauce:
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped spinach, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix the mozzarella cheese and cream cheese until smooth. Set aside.
- Take a portion of the meat mixture and flatten it in the palm of your hand. Place about a tablespoon of the cheese mixture in the center and wrap the meat around it, forming a ball. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
- Arrange the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through and golden brown.
- While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Once the meatballs are done, serve them in the warm marinara sauce, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
