Buldak, or Korean Fire Chicken, is a mouthwatering dish known for its bold flavors and spicy kick. This recipe combines tender chicken marinated in a rich blend of gochujang, soy sauce, and aromatic spices, making it a favorite for spice lovers everywhere.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
  • 2 tablespoons gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey or sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Optional: cheese for topping
Directions:
  1. In a bowl, mix gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, garlic, and ginger to create the marinade.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight in the refrigerator).
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook for about 7-10 minutes until fully cooked, stirring occasionally.
  4. If using cheese, sprinkle it over the chicken and cover the skillet for a few minutes until the cheese melts.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
