This Pumpkin Bread is the perfect fall treat with a warm, spiced flavor that fills your kitchen with the sweet aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. The moist crumb and tender texture make each slice irresistible.
Ingredients:
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 1 tbsp sugar (for topping, optional)
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Add the pumpkin puree, milk, and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- If desired, fold in the chopped walnuts or pecans.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Sprinkle with a tablespoon of sugar on top if you like a sweet, crunchy finish.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the pumpkin bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
