Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
- Vanilla ice cream (for serving, optional)
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar and boiling water until combined. Carefully pour this mixture over the batter in the baking dish. Do not stir.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is set and the center is gooey.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
