Sloppy Joe Grilled Burritos

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for grilling)

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens and becomes a rich, sloppy joe filling.
  4. Lay out the flour tortillas and evenly divide the sloppy joe mixture onto each one. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the filling.
  5. Fold in the sides of each tortilla and roll them tightly into burritos.
  6. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Grill the burritos, seam side down first, for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.
