Simplified Elegance: Deconstructed Lasagna Bowl

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef

2 cups marinara sauce

9 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Directions:

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.

Add the ground beef, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until the beef is browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.

Stir in marinara sauce and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat and let simmer for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook the lasagna pieces in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, and the Parmesan cheese.

To assemble, place a layer of broken lasagna pieces in a bowl. Top with a generous spoonful of the meat sauce, then dollop with the cheese mixture. Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used.

Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top and microwave for a minute or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
