Savory Ground Beef & Cream Cheese Crescents with Rotel

Rotel Ground Beef & Cream Cheese Crescents are the perfect combination of savory ground beef, creamy cheese, and a hint of spice from the Rotel tomatoes and green chilies. These little crescent rolls are a great appetizer, snack, or weeknight dinner. The melted cream cheese in the beef mixture gives the dish a rich, comforting texture that’s balanced by the flaky, golden crescent dough.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can (10 oz) Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the taco seasoning, Rotel tomatoes, and a pinch of salt and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through. Remove from heat.
  4. Stir in the cream cheese until it’s fully melted and incorporated into the beef mixture. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Unroll the crescent dough on a flat surface. Separate the dough into triangles as directed on the package.
  6. Spoon about 1-2 tablespoons of the beef and cream cheese mixture onto each crescent triangle. Roll up each triangle starting at the wide end, rolling it tightly into a crescent shape.
  7. Place the crescent rolls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. Return to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese.
  9. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired and serve warm.
