Sausage Gravy Breakfast Pizza

Ingredients:

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh chives for garnish (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a pizza pan or large baking sheet.
  2. Roll out the biscuit dough and press it into the pizza pan, pinching the seams together to form a solid crust. Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  3. While the crust is baking, cook the breakfast sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbled. Remove the sausage from the skillet, leaving the grease behind.
  4. To make the sausage gravy, melt butter in the skillet with the sausage grease. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, then gradually whisk in the milk. Continue stirring until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat.
  5. In another pan, scramble the eggs over medium heat until cooked through.
  6. Spread the sausage gravy evenly over the baked biscuit crust. Top with scrambled eggs, cooked sausage, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh chives, slice, and serve hot.
