Sausage-Cream Cheese Puff Rolls

Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents are the perfect balance of savory and cheesy flavors. The flakiness of the crescent roll dough contrasts beautifully with the creamy and cheesy sausage filling. These little bites make an irresistible snack or appetizer and are perfect for any gathering, whether it’s a family brunch or a holiday party.

  1. Ingredients:
    • 1 lb breakfast sausage (mild or spicy, based on preference)
    • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    • 1 tablespoon green onions, chopped (optional)
    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 can crescent roll dough (8-count)
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    Directions:
    1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
    2. In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
    3. Add the softened cream cheese to the skillet with the sausage, stirring until the cream cheese melts and combines with the sausage.
    4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, green onions (if using), garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Continue stirring until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
    5. Open the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
    6. Spoon about 1-2 tablespoons of the sausage mixture onto the wide end of each crescent roll triangle. Roll the dough up, starting from the wide end and finishing at the point.
    7. Place the filled crescent rolls onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.
    8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
