Ingredients:
For the Cookies:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans
For the Maple Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2-3 tablespoons milk (adjust for desired consistency)
Directions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chopped pecans.
- Form the Cookies: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers look set. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Make the Maple Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, and enough milk to achieve your desired glaze consistency. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cookies.
