The New York Cheesecake is the epitome of a classic dessert, known for its rich, creamy filling and buttery graham cracker crust. Its perfectly smooth texture makes it a timeless favorite for any celebration or special occasion.
- Ingredients:
For the Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
For the Cheesecake Filling:
- 4 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups sour cream
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and line a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper.
- For the crust, combine the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter in a bowl. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form an even crust. Bake for 10-12 minutes, then set aside to cool.
- For the cheesecake filling, beat the cream cheese and sugar together in a large bowl until smooth and creamy. Add the vanilla extract and flour, then beat to combine.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the sour cream and heavy cream until fully incorporated.
- Pour the cheesecake batter over the prepared crust and smooth the top.
- Place the springform pan in a larger roasting pan. Add hot water to the roasting pan until it reaches halfway up the side of the springform pan to create a water bath.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
- Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake in the oven for 1 hour.
- Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
- Before serving, remove the cheesecake from the springform pan and transfer it to a serving platter. Slice and enjoy!
