New York-Style Cheesecake with Rich Texture

The New York Cheesecake is the epitome of a classic dessert, known for its rich, creamy filling and buttery graham cracker crust. Its perfectly smooth texture makes it a timeless favorite for any celebration or special occasion.

  1. Ingredients:
    For the Crust:
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Cheesecake Filling:

  • 4 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and line a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper.
  2. For the crust, combine the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter in a bowl. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form an even crust. Bake for 10-12 minutes, then set aside to cool.
  3. For the cheesecake filling, beat the cream cheese and sugar together in a large bowl until smooth and creamy. Add the vanilla extract and flour, then beat to combine.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the sour cream and heavy cream until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the cheesecake batter over the prepared crust and smooth the top.
  6. Place the springform pan in a larger roasting pan. Add hot water to the roasting pan until it reaches halfway up the side of the springform pan to create a water bath.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
  8. Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake in the oven for 1 hour.
  9. Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  10. Before serving, remove the cheesecake from the springform pan and transfer it to a serving platter. Slice and enjoy!
