Mushroom Garlic Swiss Pork Chops

These Mushroom Garlic Swiss Pork Chops bring together tender, juicy pork chops with a rich, creamy mushroom sauce. The earthy mushrooms and aromatic garlic are perfectly complemented by the smooth, melt-in-your-mouth Swiss cheese, making each bite a flavorful indulgence.

Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in pork chops
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the sliced mushrooms. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until the mushrooms are browned and tender.
  5. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and stir to combine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream and chopped thyme, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  8. Return the pork chops to the skillet and spoon some of the mushroom sauce over the top. Sprinkle with shredded Swiss cheese.
  9. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
