Monte Cristo Sliders

Ingredients:

  • 12 slider rolls (Hawaiian rolls work well)
  • 6 slices of deli ham
  • 6 slices of deli turkey
  • 6 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
  • Raspberry or strawberry preserves (for dipping)
  • Butter for greasing pan

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the slider rolls in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom halves intact as a group.
  3. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of the rolls, then layer ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese evenly over the rolls.
  4. Place the top half of the rolls back on, pressing down gently.
  5. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and Dijon mustard until smooth.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sliders, ensuring all the bread absorbs the liquid.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 20-25 minutes. Remove the foil in the last 5 minutes to brown the tops.
  8. Optionally dust with powdered sugar and serve with raspberry or strawberry preserves for dipping.
