Maple Bacon Waffle Burger

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 4 Belgian waffles
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 small red onion, sliced
  • 4 leaves of lettuce (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Form the ground beef into four patties, season with salt and pepper, and grill for about 4-5 minutes per side until they reach your preferred doneness.
  3. While the burgers cook, fry the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Set aside.
  4. Toast the Belgian waffles by heating them in a toaster or skillet with butter until golden brown.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and ketchup to create a burger sauce.
  6. Once the burgers are cooked, top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese and let it melt.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a waffle on the bottom, adding the cheeseburger patty, a few slices of crispy bacon, and red onion slices. Drizzle maple syrup over the top and finish with a dollop of the burger sauce.
  8. Add lettuce if desired, top with another waffle, and serve hot!
