- Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup finely chopped nuts (such as walnuts or almonds)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 egg white (for egg wash)
- Extra powdered sugar for dusting
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg yolks, milk, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions.
- Roll each portion into a ball, then flatten it into a circle about 1/4-inch thick.
- For the filling, combine the chopped nuts, powdered sugar, honey, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Place a spoonful of the nut mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, forming a log shape, and seal the edges.
- Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet and brush them with a light coating of egg white.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar.
