Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 2 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • Sprinkles for decoration

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then add vanilla, almond extract, and lemon zest.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients until combined.
  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the bottoms are lightly golden.
  8. While the cookies are cooling, make the glaze by mixing powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  9. Dip each cooled cookie into the glaze, allowing excess to drip off, and sprinkle with decorations.
  10. Let the cookies sit until the glaze hardens.
