Hot Sausage Beer Cheese Dip

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 cup beer (lager or ale)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped green onions or parsley, for garnish
  • Tortilla chips or bread, for serving

Directions:

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain any excess fat.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine the cooked sausage and beer. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Lower the heat and stir in the cream cheese until melted and smooth. Gradually add the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, stirring until fully melted and combined.
  4. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions or parsley before serving with tortilla chips or bread.
