Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 cup grated carrots
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour (or gluten-free flour for sensitive dogs)
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (melted)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, grated carrots, egg, and melted coconut oil. Mix well until fully incorporated.
  3. Gradually add the whole wheat flour (or gluten-free flour) and rolled oats. Stir until the dough comes together.
  4. If you want to add a little extra flavor for your dog, mix in a pinch of cinnamon.
  5. Roll the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and use a cookie cutter to shape it into fun shapes like bones, circles, or hearts.
  6. Place the shaped dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chews are firm and golden brown. Keep an eye on them to avoid overbaking.
  8. Let the chews cool completely before serving them to your dog.
