Ingredients:
- 2 bagels (any variety, preferably whole wheat or everything bagels)
- 1 pear, thinly sliced
- 1 apple, thinly sliced
- 4 oz sharp cheddar cheese, sliced
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Caramelize the onions: In a medium skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft and golden brown.
