Golden Cheddar and Herb Quick Bread

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. Add shredded cheddar and chopped chives to the dry ingredients, mixing to coat them lightly.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, buttermilk, and egg until well combined.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, gently folding until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread tender.
  6. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
