Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Add shredded cheddar and chopped chives to the dry ingredients, mixing to coat them lightly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, buttermilk, and egg until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, gently folding until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread tender.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
