German Chocolate Poke Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 jar (12 oz) caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips, melted

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions. Prepare the cake batter as directed on the box and bake in a 9×13-inch pan.
  2. While the cake is still warm, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake.
  3. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
  4. Next, drizzle the caramel sauce over the cake, spreading it to ensure even coverage.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the shredded coconut and chopped pecans together. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the cake.
  6. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, spread the whipped topping over the cake. Drizzle melted chocolate on top for a beautiful finish.
  8. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
