- Garlic Cheese Rolls
- Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm water (110°F)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil for brushing
Directions:
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Slowly add the warm water and melted butter. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
- Flatten each dough piece and place a sprinkle of Parmesan, mozzarella cheese, and minced garlic in the center. Roll each piece into a ball, sealing the edges.
- Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish. Brush the tops with olive oil and sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted. Serve warm.
