Funnel Cake Bites

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping (optional)

Directions:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cinnamon.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
  4. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Once the oil is hot, use a spoon or small cookie scoop to drop dollops of batter into the oil.
  6. Fry the bites for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the bites from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain.
  8. Dust generously with powdered sugar and serve with chocolate or caramel sauce, if desired.
