Fried Cheese-Stuffed Doritos

  1. Ingredients:
    • 1 bag (10 oz) Doritos (any flavor)
    • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    • 2 eggs, beaten
    • 1 cup breadcrumbs
    • Oil for frying
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • Optional: hot sauce or ranch dressing for dipping
    Directions:
    1. Start by heating oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
    2. While the oil is heating, take a Dorito and gently press it down to create a small pocket. Fill the pocket with about a teaspoon of shredded cheddar cheese.
    3. Carefully fold the Dorito back to enclose the cheese, pressing the edges to seal. Repeat with the remaining chips.
    4. Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
    5. Dip each cheese-stuffed Dorito first in the flour, then in the egg, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs, ensuring it’s fully covered.
    6. Fry the coated Doritos in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
    7. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    8. Serve warm with your choice of hot sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
