This Orange Dreamsicle Cake is the perfect combination of light, fluffy cake and a rich, citrusy glaze. The orange gelatin in the cake gives it a vibrant color and a nostalgic, sweet orange flavor, while the creamy vanilla glaze adds a smooth finish that makes each bite melt in your mouth.
- Ingredients:
- 1 box of yellow cake mix
- 1 box of orange gelatin (3 oz)
- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons of orange juice
- Zest of 1 orange
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, orange gelatin, water, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix on medium speed for about 2 minutes, or until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
- While the cake is cooling, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, powdered sugar, orange juice, and orange zest until smooth and creamy.
- Once the cake has cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top of the cake and let it set for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
- Slice and enjoy your fluffy and citrusy orange dreamsicle cake!
