Grinch Popcorn is the ultimate holiday treat that’s sure to bring smiles and festive cheer to your gatherings. With its bright green color and fun red sprinkles, it’s a playful and delicious twist on a classic popcorn snack. The combination of the smooth, sweet chocolate coating and the chewy marshmallows makes every bite a delightful indulgence.
- Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels (or 1 bag microwave popcorn)
- 1/2 cup green candy melts or white chocolate chips (dyed green)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or butter
- 1/4 cup mini marshmallows
- 1/4 cup red sprinkles (or heart-shaped sprinkles for a Grinch twist)
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Directions:
- Pop the popcorn kernels using a popcorn machine or stovetop method, or prepare the microwave popcorn according to package instructions. Once popped, transfer the popcorn to a large mixing bowl, making sure to remove any unpopped kernels.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the green candy melts or white chocolate chips and coconut oil (or butter) in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and fully melted.
- Pour the melted green chocolate over the popcorn, stirring gently to coat all the popcorn evenly.
- Add the mini marshmallows to the bowl and gently fold them into the popcorn mixture.
- Spread the coated popcorn out on a parchment-lined baking sheet in an even layer.
- While the popcorn is still slightly warm, sprinkle the red sprinkles over the top. Let the popcorn cool for about 15-20 minutes or until the chocolate hardens.
- Break the cooled popcorn into pieces and serve. Store any leftovers in an airtight container.
