Easy Ravioli Sauce

  1. Ingredients:
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Directions:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and onion, and sauté until soft and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Lower the heat and slowly stir in the heavy cream, letting the sauce thicken for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and well combined.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  6. Toss the sauce with cooked ravioli and garnish with fresh basil. Serve immediately.
