- Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 (14.5 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and onion, and sauté until soft and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Lower the heat and slowly stir in the heavy cream, letting the sauce thicken for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and well combined.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Toss the sauce with cooked ravioli and garnish with fresh basil. Serve immediately.
