Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 24 oz marinara sauce (your favorite brand)
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 25 oz frozen cheese ravioli
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 ½ cups ricotta or cottage cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Directions:
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or sausage. Add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Spray the inside of your crockpot with non-stick spray.
- Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce at the bottom of the crockpot.
- Add a layer of frozen ravioli, followed by a layer of ricotta (or cottage) cheese, and a sprinkle of mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Repeat the layers: meat sauce, ravioli, cheeses—until all ingredients are used, finishing with a generous layer of mozzarella on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours, until the ravioli is tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving, if desired.
