Crockpot Barbecue Ribs are a mouthwatering way to enjoy tender, fall-off-the-bone meat without the hassle of grilling. Slow-cooked in a flavorful barbecue sauce, these ribs develop a rich, smoky flavor that seeps into every bite. The convenience of a crockpot allows the meat to become incredibly tender while the sauce thickens and caramelizes, creating a sticky, finger-licking glaze.
Ingredients:
- 3 lbs baby back ribs or St. Louis-style ribs
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional)
Directions:
- Remove the silver membrane from the back of the ribs for better seasoning and tenderness.
- In a small bowl, mix the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Rub the spice blend all over the ribs, coating both sides.
- Place the ribs in the slow cooker, curving them to fit if necessary.
- In a separate bowl, mix the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and liquid smoke (if using). Pour the sauce evenly over the ribs.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours, until the ribs are tender and easily pull away from the bone.
- Optional: For a sticky, caramelized finish, place the cooked ribs on a baking sheet, brush with extra barbecue sauce, and broil in the oven for 3-5 minutes.
- Serve hot with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
