- Ingredients:
- 24 jumbo pasta shells
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the jumbo shells according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop cooking.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, cooking until soft (about 2-3 minutes).
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat, then stir in 1/2 cup marinara sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, egg, Parmesan, and 1/2 cup mozzarella. Mix well.
- Stuff each shell with a spoonful of the ricotta mixture and a bit of the beef filling. Place stuffed shells in the prepared baking dish.
- Pour the remaining marinara sauce evenly over the shells. Top with the remaining mozzarella.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and lightly golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
