Jalapeño poppers are a crowd-pleasing appetizer that brings together the perfect balance of spicy, creamy, and savory flavors. The creamy cheese filling, mixed with sharp cheddar and Parmesan, complements the heat from the jalapeños, while the crumbled bacon and golden breadcrumbs add a delightful crunch.
Ingredients:
- 10 large jalapeño peppers
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 12 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes (use gloves to avoid irritation).
- In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Spoon the cream cheese mixture into each jalapeño half, pressing gently to fill the cavity.
- Sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the top of the cream cheese filling.
- In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with olive oil to coat them evenly. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the bacon-covered jalapeños.
- Place the stuffed jalapeños on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the jalapeños are tender and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
