Copycat McDonald’s Steak Egg and Cheese

  1. Copycat McDonald’s Steak Egg and Cheese

Ingredients:

  • For the Steak:
    • 1 pound sirloin steak (or your preferred cut)
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • For the Egg and Cheese:
    • 4 large eggs
    • 4 slices American cheese
    • 1 tablespoon butter
  • For the Sandwich Assembly:
    • 4 soft sandwich rolls (like brioche or kaiser rolls)
    • Optional: hot sauce or ketchup for serving

Directions:

  1. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Rub the steak with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.
  2. In a non-stick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet, cooking them to your preference (sunny-side up, over-easy, or scrambled). During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each egg to melt.
  3. While the eggs are cooking, toast the sandwich rolls on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.
  4. To assemble, place a portion of sliced steak on the bottom half of each roll, followed by a cheesy egg. Add hot sauce or ketchup if desired, then top with the other half of the roll.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade breakfast sandwich!
