These Spicy Cheesy Taco Sticks are a perfect blend of flavors and textures—crispy on the outside, gooey and cheesy on the inside, with a spicy kick from the jalapeños. The seasoned beef adds depth, while the melted cheese makes each bite irresistibly satisfying.
- Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 package refrigerated pizza dough
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1/4 cup salsa
- 1 tablespoon sour cream (for dipping)
- 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro (for garnish)
- Olive oil (for brushing)
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in the taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water. Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface and cut it into strips, about 1-inch wide.
- Spoon a small amount of the taco beef mixture onto each dough strip, then top with shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
- Carefully fold the dough over the filling to create a pocket, pinching the edges to seal.
- Place the stuffed taco sticks on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg wash and lightly brush with olive oil.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted inside.
- Remove from the oven and drizzle with salsa and a dollop of sour cream. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
