Cheesy and Spicy Taco Sticks

These Spicy Cheesy Taco Sticks are a perfect blend of flavors and textures—crispy on the outside, gooey and cheesy on the inside, with a spicy kick from the jalapeños. The seasoned beef adds depth, while the melted cheese makes each bite irresistibly satisfying.

  1. Ingredients:
  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 package refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream (for dipping)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro (for garnish)
  • Olive oil (for brushing)

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in the taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water. Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface and cut it into strips, about 1-inch wide.
  4. Spoon a small amount of the taco beef mixture onto each dough strip, then top with shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
  5. Carefully fold the dough over the filling to create a pocket, pinching the edges to seal.
  6. Place the stuffed taco sticks on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg wash and lightly brush with olive oil.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted inside.
  8. Remove from the oven and drizzle with salsa and a dollop of sour cream. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
