Cheddar Bay Biscuit Pizza Crust

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (for brushing)

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a pizza pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your hands until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Gradually add the milk, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  6. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently 3-4 times. Roll it out into a circle to fit your pizza pan.
  7. Transfer the dough to the prepared pan and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is lightly golden.
  8. Remove from the oven, brush the crust with melted butter mixed with garlic powder, then add your desired pizza toppings.
  9. Return to the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the toppings are cooked and the cheese is bubbly.
