This Banana Pudding with Extra Bananas is the ultimate comfort dessert, featuring rich and creamy vanilla pudding layered with fresh banana slices and buttery vanilla wafer cookies. The extra bananas give this classic dessert an added burst of flavor and texture, making it even more irresistible.
- Ingredients:
- 4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 (5 oz) package vanilla pudding mix
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1 box (about 45) vanilla wafer cookies
Directions:
- Prepare the vanilla pudding mix according to the package instructions by whisking the pudding mix with 2 cups of milk. Refrigerate for at least 10 minutes, or until set.
- While the pudding sets, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar together in a large mixing bowl until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the prepared pudding mixture until fully incorporated. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
- In a large serving dish, layer the vanilla wafer cookies, sliced bananas, and pudding mixture. Start with a layer of cookies at the bottom of the dish, followed by a layer of banana slices. Spoon a layer of the pudding mixture on top, and repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of pudding on top.
- Cover and refrigerate the banana pudding for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the pudding to set.
- Before serving, garnish with additional banana slices on top.
