Ingredients:
- 2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and quartered
- 1 package (8 oz) crescent roll dough
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7-Up)
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Wrap each apple quarter in a triangle of crescent roll dough and place them in the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Pour the mixture evenly over the apple dumplings.
- Pour the lemon-lime soda around the edges of the baking dish (not over the top of the dumplings).
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and the sauce is bubbly.
- Let the dumplings cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired!
