Apple Cinnamon Crisp

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups peeled and sliced apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

For the Topping:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour. Toss until the apples are well coated.
  3. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  4. In another bowl, mix the oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
