Ingredients:
- 6 cups peeled and sliced apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
For the Topping:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp salt
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour. Toss until the apples are well coated.
- Pour the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- In another bowl, mix the oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
