  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into patties.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the patties over medium heat, cooking for 3-4 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth.
  5. In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes on the bottom. Place the browned hamburger patties on top of the potatoes.
  6. Pour the soup mixture over the patties and potatoes, then sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
